Variable speed replacement motor for Emco Unimat 3, SL and DB200 lathes. This is an upgraded version of replacement motor for Emco Unimat 3, SL and DB200 lathes. Considering the price, it is the best existing on the market, replacement for the original Emco Unimat SL and Unimat 3 motors.

The replacement motor is solid, robust, powerful and built in the UK to last, with minimum requirements for maintenance. The motor can be fitted to any Emco Unimat SL or Unimat 3 in the same way as original Emco motors, by the same original Emco M5 motor mounting screws. The motor is designed to easily fit both Unimat SL and Unimat 3 models in lathe or mill/pillar drill configuration, without any additional modification.

200W motor power is regarded as continuous, so you do not need to be bothered anymore with observing your motors duty cycle time. However, under full load the heat of the motor casing will be such that it is not possible to physically handle for any length of time. It seems that, apart from excellent functional aspects, there was also a great consideration given to aesthetically please users, as the replacement motor with speed controller looks stunning. The vintage, retro style of the controller merges very well with the visual style of Unimat SL or Unimat 3.

The free speed range for this motor is approx from 800rpm to 2700rpm. To add some personal feedback about this motor, I need to notice that once I replaced the old, original, 95W weak! , badly duty cycled Unimat motor, my first, surprisingly positive, impression was that my Unimats become "completely different (in a good sense) machines". Because you can switch the motor on and off by pushing the knob down, this does not affect the pre-adjusted speed. You can switch it on and off and independently adjust the speed.

The motor comes with 12mm pulley. It is the smallest size pulley available for this motor. You will need 3mm Allen key to do and undo grub screws in the motor pulley. To get the most out of the motor, we recommend to try different belts' lengths and different sizes of pulleys, so you can explore a large number of options for speed and torque. Also, you will need to adjust circumferential length of your polyurethane, 5mm drive belts. Please contact me, if you need any help with your belts. Motor comes with standard UK mains, fused plug. Length of the robust, rubber power supply cable is 2m. As a picture is worth a thousand words, please study all photographs to see the exact, visual and functional condition of the item. The replacement motor with speed controller is categorised as "New other". It has being fully electrically and mechanically tested, and it comes with a test certificate.
