The grinder is over engineered to increase weight and stability which makes for a quiet running machine with virtually no vibrations.

Tensioner arm and all tooling arms are made from 40mm solid square steel. The main chassis of the grinder is made from 10mm laser cut plate with 16mm x 40mm solid rectangle spacer bars. The top part of the stand that incorporates the swivel for laying the belt grinder down horizontally is made from 6mm thick steel and the bottom part of the stand is made from 3mm laser cut steel with storage for spare tooling arms and accessories. The grinder is bolted together with no welds so that no heat has been introduced potentially warping the plates and causing misalignment in the wheels, because of this the belt tracks forwards and backwards with only a slight adjustment occasionally required with some belts. The stand is made in two parts, the lower portion allows it to be floor mounted and can be removed leaving the upper portion to be bolted to a bench whilst still allowing the grinder to tilt to horizontal (also available without stand). The lower part of the stand has four feet with holes in allowing it to be bolted/fixed to the floor. The grinder runs on a standard 220 volt supply and then the VFD (speed controller) converts single phase to three phase running the industrial 2hp motor by doing this you gain an industrial grade three phase brushless 2 hp motor plus a wide range of control via the VFD including ramp up and ramp down speeds, braking speeds, variable speed and forward and reverse, all of this results in a belt speed of around 22 metres a second. The platten gives you 245mm of useable work area and can be adjusted to various angles in both directions. The work rest can also be adjusted to various angles and heights and between the two giving a vast range of setup angles. All drive and idler wheels are CNC machined and have triple bearings.

Drive wheels are 130mm in diameter, tensioner wheels are 70mm and platten wheels are 65mm diameter. The total height is 122cm, total width is 36cm and total depth is 54cm not including platten.

The grinder accepts standard 2 x 72 sanding belts, also in this length you can get scotchbrite belts and polishing belts. The belt grinder will be painted machine grey. Included with the belt grinder is motor and speed controller, platten head and work table, other options available. Attachments can be made and personalised to your requirements including radius jigs, surface grinding attachment, pipe notching attachment etc. You design it I can build it! Demonstrations are available if you would like to have a go on one and maybe discuss specific requirements.
