Cowells Controller variable speed CW90 lathe milling machine Parvalux motor READ
I found this in my late Father's shed. It was in a cupboard. My father had a Cowells CW90 and a Cowells Milling machine and I guess this was either from one of those or a spare. The speed dial rotates easily and to it's stops. The switch clicks over as it should.
The control box has corrosion, but could actually be unused as the 2 plastic plugs show no signs of holes where cable would normally enter and exit. I can not undo all the screws to see inside the controller as 2 of the screws are tight and the heads rusted. If I could have taken the controller lid off I would have taken a photos for you, so sorry that I could not. The motor does need 2 new springs with finger ends to press done on the motor brushes. I know this as I have removed the motor's black end cap and can see a bit of corrosion and the spring fingers have broken off.
Easy fix as it's just a spring with one end of the spring protruding and pressing on a the brush. The motor brushes move freely and look ok to me. Motor is 4000rpm, DC shunt 200/220 volt. 0.85 amps, SD 11C Parvalux. Output shaft is rusty and is 8mm diameter.
Controller is a Thyristor DC controller input 200/50 VOLTS AC only. This is what it says on the front plate. Please have a good look at photos for visual condition. Collection or I can post.
